PJS (Pragati Jubaka Sangha) as a pro-poor organization has been relentlessly working with a vision of facilitating a society where the poor, deprived, under-privileged and the marginalized people and communities are able to lead a self reliant and dignified life in a transparent, gender sensitive, accountable and democratic societal environment.
A group of social forward looking and committed youths of chandbali area have formed Pragati Jubak Sangha (PJS) in the year of 1956 as a Social Action Group. The prime objective of PJS is socio economic development of the weaker community in general and all round development of poorest of the poor in particular. At the primary stage of its inception, Pragati Jubak Sangha has organized grass root movements to full fill the interest of the laborers and farmers through awareness camps and theaters.
In the year 1978-79 PJS was registered under Socities registration act XXI of 1860. After it PJS has been working for the integrated development of the women, children & youths. In the year 2006 it was registered under Foreign Contribution Regulation Act 1976.
